This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Taostats website, API, mobile app, Chrome extension, Discord bot, and related services (the "Services"), how we use it, and the choices you have. Taostats is operated by T34 Corporation FZCO ("Taostats", "we", "us", "our").
1. Information We Collect
Account information. You can use Taostats without an account. If you create one, you can register with an email address or sign in with Google or GitHub. We store the email address or identifiers you provide and any wallet addresses you add to your account. We also offer anonymous accounts that use a PIN for login and cryptocurrency for payment; these hold no email address or other contact details unless you choose to add them.
Sign in with Google or GitHub. If you sign up or sign in using Google or GitHub, we receive and store your email address, the unique account identifier assigned by that provider, which provider you used, and your public profile details from that provider, including your name and profile image URL where you have set one. We use these to create and display your Taostats profile. We never receive your password for that provider.
Wallet addresses linked to your account. When you add a wallet address to your account for portfolio tracking or tax reports, we store that public address against your account. Connecting a browser wallet to perform chain actions such as staking, unstaking, or swaps happens entirely on your device; we do not store the address of a connected wallet against your account. We never have access to your private keys or seed phrases.
Portfolio and tax data. Blockchain transaction history is public, and we index it for every address on the networks we support regardless of whether anyone has an account with us. When you link a wallet to a paid account, we associate that public history with your account so we can show your portfolio and generate tax reports. That association exists only while your account is open.
Payment information. Card payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your card details. We store the Stripe transaction reference and Stripe customer ID for each payment, and we share your account email address with Stripe because Stripe requires one; for anonymous accounts we share a placeholder address that does not identify you. Cryptocurrency payments are recorded on the relevant public blockchain, and we store the transaction reference.
API usage. If you use the Taostats API, we log API key identifiers, request timestamps, endpoints called, response status, and usage volumes to operate, secure, and bill for the API.
Usage and device information. When you use our website, app, or extension we collect usage metrics such as pages visited, features used, browser type, device type, and referring URLs, in aggregate or anonymised form where practicable.
Cookies and similar technologies. We use only strictly necessary cookies, which keep you signed in and make the Services work. We do not set advertising, tracking, or third-party analytics cookies, so we do not show a cookie banner. You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings, though you will not be able to stay signed in without them.
Analytics. We use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to measure traffic to our website and app, such as pages visited, referring sites, and browser and device type. Umami does not use cookies and does not collect names, email addresses, or other directly identifying information. Where a page you visit includes a wallet address in its URL, that address may be recorded as part of the page view. Analytics data is used in aggregate only, and is not used to measure, track, or analyse transactions you make or requests you send to the Taostats API.
Support and communications. If you contact us, including through Discord or email, we keep the content of your messages and any information you provide so we can respond and improve our support. If you give us a wallet address or transaction details to help resolve an issue, we use them only for that purpose.
Discord bot. Taostats operates a Discord bot used to produce community-sentiment analytics for Bittensor subnets. The bot is only active in Discord servers where a server administrator has invited it. It reads messages in the channels it has access to and derives a sentiment score, topic tags, and periodic per-subnet summaries. These derived values are retained historically to show trends over time. Raw message text is retained for a rolling 90-day period to allow summaries to be regenerated, and is then deleted. We do not build individual user profiles, do not sell or share this data, and do not use message content to train machine-learning models. Aggregate results are displayed on taostats.io. Server administrators may remove the bot at any time, ending collection, and may request deletion of their server's data by emailing [email protected]. Use of the bot is subject to Discord's Terms of Service and Developer Policy.
2. Information We Process But Do Not Store
IP addresses. We use the IP address of a request in transit for routing, rate limiting, and abuse prevention. We do not record IP addresses against your account, your wallet addresses, or any transaction you make through Taostats. IP addresses may appear in server and security logs, which are kept for a limited period for troubleshooting and security purposes and are not used to identify or profile you.
Transactions when not signed in. If you use Taostats features without being signed in, we do not store any record linking you to the activity.
Transactions when signed in. When you make a transaction through Taostats using a connected browser wallet, the transaction is recorded on the public blockchain and is visible to anyone. We record that a transaction event occurred in our analytics, but we do not record your IP address against it and we do not associate it with your account, even if you are signed in at the time. Because we do not link connected browser wallets to accounts, we cannot work out which account performed a given transaction.
On-chain data. Anything recorded on a public blockchain, including wallet addresses and transaction history, is public by design and cannot be removed by us.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
a. provide, operate, and maintain the Services;
b. create and display your account and profile, and authenticate you;
c. execute transactions you initiate, such as staking, swaps, or liquidity actions, always under your explicit control;
d. generate portfolio views and tax reports for paid accounts;
e. process payments and manage subscriptions;
f. enforce rate limits and acceptable use, and detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and security threats;
g. monitor performance, diagnose problems, and improve the Services;
h. provide customer support and respond to your requests;
i. send service notices, billing information, and (where you have not opted out) product updates; and
j. comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
Some of our security and abuse-prevention measures, such as rate limiting and blocking of suspicious traffic, are applied automatically. These do not produce legal or similarly significant effects on you, and you can contact us if you believe a measure has been applied to you in error.
Legal bases. Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of our contract with you (providing the Services, your account, transactions you initiate, portfolio and tax features, payments, and support); our legitimate interests in securing the Services, preventing abuse and fraud, improving our products, producing aggregate community analytics, and running our business; compliance with legal obligations, including tax and accounting law and responding to lawful requests; and your consent, for marketing communications and non-essential cookies, which you may withdraw at any time.
4. What We Do Not Do
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
We do not have access to, and never ask for, your private keys or seed phrases, and we do not hold custody of your funds.
We do not use your personal information for advertising or to profile you for purposes unrelated to the Services.
We do not record your IP address against transactions you make through Taostats.
5. How We Share Information
We share information only where necessary to operate the Services or where the law requires it:
Service providers. Hosting, network, and infrastructure providers; Stripe for card payments; Resend for transactional email; Google and GitHub as sign-in providers when you choose to use them; Umami for analytics; and similar vendors who process information on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and security obligations. Our authentication system is operated in house.
Blockchain networks. Transactions you initiate are broadcast to public blockchain networks, where they are publicly visible.
Discord. The Discord bot operates on Discord's platform and is subject to Discord's own terms and privacy policy.
Affiliates. Companies within our corporate group, including Blockmachine, for operational, support, and security purposes consistent with this policy.
Legal and safety. Where required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Taostats, our users, or others.
Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case the receiving party will be bound by this policy.
6. Data Retention
We keep account information, linked wallet addresses, and profile details for as long as your account is open. To close your account, contact us at [email protected]; we will delete this information within 30 days of your request, except where we are required to keep it for legal, tax, or dispute-resolution purposes.
The association between your account and your wallets' transaction history (used for portfolio and tax features) is deleted when your account is closed. The underlying blockchain data remains public.
Stripe transaction references and customer IDs, and cryptocurrency payment references, are retained for as long as required by applicable tax and accounting law.
API usage logs and server logs, which may include IP addresses, wallet addresses, and payment references, are retained for 30 days for operational, security, and billing purposes, after which they are deleted or aggregated.
Discord bot raw message text is retained for a rolling 90 days. Derived per-subnet analytics are retained indefinitely in aggregate form.
Support correspondence is retained for 12 months after the matter is closed, so we can handle follow-ups and related issues.
Aggregated statistics that no longer identify you may be retained indefinitely.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organisational measures to protect information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), tokenised authentication, access controls, and monitoring. No system is completely secure, and you are responsible for keeping your login credentials, PIN, API keys, and wallet private keys confidential. If we become aware of a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify you and any relevant authority as required by applicable law.
8. International Transfers
Our user database is hosted in France, within the European Union. Taostats is operated from the United Arab Emirates, and our staff and some service providers access or process information from outside the EU and UK. Where personal information of EU or UK residents is accessed from or transferred to a country without an adequacy decision, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, and for UK residents the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, together with appropriate technical and organisational safeguards. You can request a copy of the relevant clauses by contacting us.
9. Your Choices and Rights
You can update your account information, add or remove wallet addresses, and disconnect Google or GitHub sign-in from your account settings. For any change you cannot make yourself, including correcting your profile name or image or closing your account, contact us at [email protected].
You may unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in each message. Service and billing notices will continue while you have an account.
Where we rely on your consent to process your personal information, you may withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us or, for marketing, by using the unsubscribe link. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before you withdrew it.
Depending on where you live, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to receive a copy of it in a portable format. To exercise these rights, or to request deletion of your account and personal data, contact us at [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we may retain certain information where required by law, such as payment records.
We will respond to your request within one month of receiving it. If a request is complex or we receive several from you, we may extend this by up to two further months and will tell you why. We do not charge a fee for these requests, except where a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive, in which case we may charge a reasonable fee or decline to act on it.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection supervisory authority in the country where you live or work, or where you believe a breach has occurred. We would appreciate the chance to address your concerns first, so please contact us before doing so.
Deletion requests cannot remove data recorded on a public blockchain.
10. Children
The Services are not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Third-Party Links
The Services may link to third-party websites, documentation, or tools. This policy does not apply to those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting an announcement on our website or app, emailing your account address where you have provided one, or updating the date at the top of this document. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
